My name is Ulrike Lüdemann, but almost everyone calls me Ulli In 2012, I made one of the biggest decisions of my life and moved to Hurghada. During a holiday here, I fell in love with the Red Sea, the warm-hearted people and the incredible underwater world.

It's funny to think that, in the beginning, I was actually afraid of fish and even nervous about snorkeling. Step by step, that fear turned into a true passion.

My journey started with a job at a hotel. While working there, I noticed that many parents couldn't fully enjoy their time in the sea because they were looking after their children. That inspired me to do something different. I began caring for the children during boat trips, allowing their parents to relax, snorkel and enjoy the beautiful Red Sea. That simple idea slowly grew into my own business.

This is how ‘Abenteuer Sonnenfeeʼ was born. The name came from one of my guests, who once smiled and said, "You're a real Sunshine Fairy." The name stayed with me and became the identity of my company.

From the very beginning, I never wanted to offer mass tourism. My priorities have always been safety, quality, personal service and genuine care. I want every guest to feel like a friend or even part of our family.

Over the years, I have had the privilege of meeting so many wonderful people. Many of them return year after year and have become close friends. Thanks to their recommendations, my business has continued to grow, and I will always be grateful for their trust and support.

Four years ago, my daughter joined the business, and it means a great deal to me that we can now continue this journey together.

Of course, the road hasn't always been easy. There were difficult moments, setbacks and times when I questioned everything. But every challenge made me stronger and taught me never to give up on my dreams.

Another important chapter began when I started working with my business partner, Ahmed Ragab, known as Bakkar. Thanks to his experience, support and our shared vision, we built three businesses in the Marina: Fairy's Eyes – Iris Photography, a second Fairy's Eyes – Iris Photography location, and the Rasta Shop. I have learned so much from him, and I am truly grateful for everything we have achieved together.

I am equally proud of our team. Our staff are much more than colleagues they have become like family. Together, we work every day with passion to create unforgettable experiences for our guests.

Today, the Marina feels just as much like home as the Red Sea itself. Every time I see dolphins in their natural habitat with my guests, I am reminded why I chose this life. Those moments fill me with happiness, energy and inspiration.

I also enjoy helping people discover Hurghada, whether by recommending excursions, sharing local knowledge or offering advice based on my own experience. Seeing people fall in love with this place is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.

SINCE 2012 HURGHADA HAS BECOME MY HOME

Here I have built not only a business, but also a second home. I love the sea, I love the dolphins, and I truly love what I do. Every day I feel grateful that I can share the beauty of Egypt and the Red Sea with people from all over the world
